Feminist Studies Group at the Graduate Center

Organizing Meeting

September 14th, 2012 by Meredith Benjamin · 2 Comments

The Feminist Studies Group will be holding our first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 27 from 3-4:30 pm in Room 5414. We want to hear what you want to see from the group, and how you’d like to be involved. So far, we’ve discussed a monthly reading group, a roaming monthly happy hour, a compilation of resources on feminist pedagogy, and perhaps eventually a conference (next semester or next year).

If you can’t make this one (unfortunately it was impossible to find a time that worked for everyone who replied), or don’t want to be involved with the organizational side of things, keep an eye out for announcement of our first reading group meeting in October (date TBD). Please feel free to send us an email (feministstudiesgroup@gmail.com) if you have ideas but can’t make the meeting. We’ll send out a summary/minutes afterwards.

Bring your ideas – we hope to see you then!

And welcome and welcome back to all new and returning GC students.  Here you’ll find updates on news, events, articles, and resources relating to feminist inquiry in higher education, graduate student life, and beyond. We are working to schedule our first meeting for the Fall 2012 semester–stay tuned for details.  In the interim, feel free to add your own resources, comment, or make suggestions.
